Dr. Don Ensley, Department of Community Health, will be
a consultant for a grant program from the Centers of Disease
Control to evaluate the effectiveness of the Arthritis Self-Help
Course (ASHC) and the Chronic Disease Self-Management Program
(CDSMP). The two-year plan will focus in particular on the effectiveness
of the community-based self-help programs on African-Americans
and rural residents, populations so far not reached by either
program.
