About the Council for Allied Health in North Carolina

Contributions
  1. Promote primary health care to underserved populations.
  2. Manage patient information to support quality care.
  3. Promote life support services for critical care.
  4. Perform medical imaging for diagnoses, assessment and radiation treatment of diseases and injuries.
  5. Perform laboratory tests, ensure the quality of the results, explain the significance of tests, evaluate new methods and effectiveness of laboratory tests.
  6. Plan, organize and direct programs for individuals of all ages which promote health and alleviate pain or disability resulting from disease or injury.
  7. Provide hearing assessments and fitting of hearing aids for persons with hearing impairments.
  8. Provide speech and language therapy for young children with developmental delay or disability.
  9. Deliver rehabilitation services for persons who have survived a stroke or brain injury.
  10. Provide support and management to assist individuals with disability to acquire or regain their best level of autonomy, independence, and productivity.
  11. Manage health information for documentation of patient care, financial reimbursement, legal protection and marketing for healthcare services.
