- Ongoing and open forum for sharing information and issues
related to:
- Education
- Professional trends
- Workforce availability of allied health professionals
- Recommending healthcare delivery models for beneficial,
accessible and cost-effective allied health services.
- Developed a plan to address serious workforce shortages
in 1994.
- Collaborated with statewide communities in a successful
initiative to seek legislative approval and funding for the
expansion of programs in Occupational Therapy, Physical Therapy
and Speech-Language Pathology.
- Graduates of these expanded programs entered the workforce
in 1998.
- Served as a forum for facilitation of advancement of school-based
Speech-Language Pathologists to Masters level preparation.
- Established a survey and model database with the Sheps
Center of supply and demand information on the allied health
workforce in North Carolina.
